Understanding Our Fees and Funding
Our fee structure is designed to be straightforward and all-inclusive, so you can focus on your child’s time with us without any hidden costs.
What’s Included in Our Fees?
- A delicious, freshly prepared two-course lunch.
- Healthy and tasty morning and afternoon snacks, which include options like fruit, cheese, and home baking, served with water or milk.

Understanding Your Childcare Funding
We are proud to work in partnership with East Lothian Council to help make high-quality childcare more accessible for families. Our goal is to make the funding process simple and transparent.
How Your Funding Works
Funded Hours: We offer up to 22.8 funded early learning hours per week for all 3 to 5-year-olds and eligible 2-year-olds. This is provided over 50 weeks of the year, giving a total of 1140 hours annually.
Monthly Credit: This funding is applied as a credit directly to your monthly invoice, meaning it’s completely free at the point of delivery.
Banking Your Hours
We understand that your childcare needs can change throughout the year. The council provides funding based on a maximum of 10 hours per day. If your child attends our nursery for two days a week, you will have 2.8 hours of funding “banked” each week. These hours can be saved up and used for a total of 14 additional days of childcare throughout the year, allocated as follows:

This system offers valuable flexibility to suit your family’s schedule.
Our Sessions & Opening Times
Our nursery is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
We understand some families need an earlier start, so we also offer an extended opening from 7:30am for a small additional fee.
Please note that our nursery closes for a two-week period over Christmas and New Year.
Ensuring the Best for Your Child
To provide the best possible continuity of care and help your child feel settled, secure, and happy, we have the following minimum session requirements:
- Hedgehogs (babies): A minimum of 2 days per week.
- Owls and Badgers (toddlers and pre-school): A minimum of 1 day per week.
We do not offer half-day sessions. If you have any questions about our sessions or availability, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
